The Solicitors Regulation Authority has been ordered to pay £184,000 in costs following its error-strewn prosecution of a London lawyer.

The regulator referred solicitor Simon James Price to the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal in September 2023 for alleged due diligence failings concerning a client. It decided to take action against him rather than his firm after concluding that he had not shared information with his firm "in relation to client A’s source of wealth and funds", and that it was in the public interest to issue proceedings.
