Hengeler Mueller is advising furniture giant XXXLutz on a cross-border deal to acquire the Porta Group, including 140 stores in Germany, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The Porta group is a second-generation, family-run furnishing company with a turnover of €1.3 billion and 6,000 employees.
The Hengeler team is led by partners Georg Seyfarth and Thomas Lang from the M&A/ real estate teams, alongside partners Michael Schramm in public law and Hendrik Bockenheimer in employment. They worked with local law firm PRK Partners s.r.o. in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
