At a time when the rule of law is being challenged in many jurisdictions around the world, Singapore Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong said in a speech to lawyers and business leaders that Singapore’s strong rule of law has underpinned the country’s progress as a nation.
“Businesses enjoy commercial certainty. They operate with confidence, knowing that contracts can be enforced and will be honored and that disputes will be resolved expeditiously and impartially,” Lee said, addressing more than 430 local and international delegates from across 15 jurisdictions at the Singapore International Commercial Court (SICC) Conference 2025.
