Jones Day is strengthening its Brussels corporate team with Pierre-Olivier Mahieu, as BCLP, Simmons & Simmons, Eversheds Sutherland, Heuking, and Addleshaw Goddard make key partner appointments to expand their European presence.

Jones Day Brussels has taken on corporate partner Pierre-Olivier Mahieu, a former A&O Shearman partner with 30 years of experience advising clients in M&A, private equity, and equity capital market transactions. Mahieu has advised on many deals including the acquisition of a €3.3 billion life insurance portfolio by a Belgian insurance company, the sale of a French motorcycle parts distributor to a U.S.-based engineering products company, the €175 million sale of the main assets of a distressed Belgian pharma company to an EU pharma group under pre-pack bankruptcy proceedings.
