The only thing that’s clear about Donald Trump’s threats to slap a universal 25% tariff on all Canadian imports on his first day in office is that no one knows what he will actually do.
Among all this uncertainty, veteran trade lawyers say international trade is changing, and business, industry, and governments therefore need to start planning for a future that doesn’t rely so heavily on a single trading partner.
