A funder backs a class representative to sue Mastercard for £10 billion. After eight years, Mastercard is defeated—but the class rep chooses to settle for £200 million, against the wishes of the funder. Furious, the funder launches arbitration proceedings against their own class rep.
Despite eight years of litigation against one another, Mastercard agrees to foot the class rep’s arbitration bill in fighting the funder to the tune of £10 million.
