In another high-profile lateral move for the Brussels legal market, the founding partner of Cooley’s local base has jumped ship to become Morrison Foerster’s co-managing partner in Belgium’s capital.

Alexander Israel said he has been brought on board to “build out” Morrison Foerster’s Brussels office. He will also serve as chair of the European competition practice within the firm’s global antitrust law practice group. Israel will be the Brussels office’s co-managing partner together with Alex van der Wolk, who also oversees the firm’s recently launched Amsterdam base.
