Chicago-based Kirkland & Ellis is launching a restructuring and insolvency practice in Asia by recruiting Hogan Lovells’ practice head for the region, Hong Kong partner Neil McDonald.

McDonald is taking with him fellow Hong Kong partner Damien Coles, another restructuring lawyer, who joined from O’Melveny & Myers last month. No date was announced for their start at Kirkland, which currently has 100 restructuring lawyers in the U.S. and Europe.
