A pilot scheme to allow cross-market trading between stock exchanges in Hong Kong and Shanghai launched on Monday.

Brokers had been preparing for the Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect to go live in October, but officials from the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) and the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) waited until Nov. 10 to announce the launch.
