We wrap up our miniseries on whether EQ makes women better leaders than men. Having opened with that question, our next lesson asked what women have to do to be taken seriously. And in Part 3, we asked if EQ has more power in law firms or in-house.

In all these discussions, a recurring theme has been the affinity between EQ and lean skills. With EQ comes empathy, self-awareness, motivation, active listening, and a host of collaboration skills. These are all vital attributes of lean. This being so, it’s no great leap to conclude that women make great lean lawyers and, by extension, great business developers who can bridge the disconnects between law firms and in-house counsel.
