White & Case has promoted its largest number of London lawyers to partner ever, with 13 associates making the cut.
The promotions are part of the largest global round the firm has ever completed, with a total of 41 partners being made up.
The previous record number of London promotions for the US firm was eight, in both 2017 and 2016.
Of the global round, 19 out of the 41 new partners are female, with five in London.
The firm concentrated the promotions in its London and US bases, with 61% made up in those regions.
Aside from London and the US, the firm promoted 12 associates to partner across continental Europe and Russia, two in Hong Kong and two in the Middle East.
White & Case has undergone an aggressive lateral hiring spree in its City office in recent years as part of a sustained growth plan in London.
In 2015, the firm launched an ambitious new five-year strategy plan, with rapid growth in London and New York at its centre.
The firm is now more than halfway through the plan, which included a target of boosting lawyer count in the City from 350 to more than 500 within five years, with the firm also aiming to increase New York headcount to a similar size.
