Cravath Swaine & Moore has announced an all-female partner promotion round, with the US firm making up three women in New York.

The three newly appointed partners are litigation lawyer Lauren Kennedy, who focuses on general commercial litigation matters, and corporate lawyers Sasha Rosenthal-Larrea and Allison Wein, who concentrate on capital markets and M&A work respectively. The promotions will take effect at the beginning of 2019.

The firm has made up half the amount of lawyers it promoted last year, with 2017′s six-strong intake including two women. However, in 2016 the US heavyweight also announced an all-female promotion round, with three new partners.

Cravath joins Travers Smith and Slaughter and May in having announced female-heavy rounds in recent years. In 2017, Travers made up four lawyers, all of whom were women, while three out of four associates to have been promoted to partner by Slaughters this year were women.

Other partner promotions to have been announced recently include Latham & Watkins, which promoted nine London lawyers to the partnership and 31 globally, and Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton, which made up one partner in London and eight partners in total across its offices worldwide.
