Fieldfisher has elected Michael Chissick as its managing partner, following an uncontested election.

Incumbent Chissick's third consecutive term will start on 1 May 2019 and run for three years.

Chissick told Legal Week: "I am very pleased the firm has seen fit to re-elect me for another three years." He added that his priority is now to continue the firm's growth trajectory, while focusing on integration across its global offices.

He first took up the role of managing partner in 2013, before which he ran the firm's technology, outsourcing and privacy law group.

Since then, he has overseen a full firm rebrand and a period of rapid expansion at the firm.

Under his tenure, the firm has more than doubled its revenues in the past five years – from £95m in 2012-13 to £207m in 2017-18 – and has embarked on international expansion throughout Europe and Asia.

Last year, the firm opened a new office in the Netherlands, and this year it launched new bases in Frankfurt and Luxembourg, and a new legal services centre in Belfast.

It also continued its China expansion with a third office, in the southern city of Guangzhou.

In September, the firm merged with Spanish law firm Jausas, launching in the country with bases in Barcelona and Madrid.

Other firms that have switched up their management this month include Travers Smith, which elected tax partner Kathleen Russ as its first-ever female senior partner, and Simmons & Simmons, which reappointed managing partner Jeremy Hoyland for a third consecutive term after an uncontested vote.
