Arnold & Porter Hires Second White & Case Partner for Seoul Office
Kyungseok Kim reunites with Seoul office head James Lee, who helped launch and led White & Case's Seoul office in 2015.

Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer has hired a second partner from White & Case in its newly approved Seoul office.
Corporate partner Kyungseok Kim joins former White & Case partner James Lee, who joined the firm earlier to launch the Seoul office.
U.S.-qualified Kim focuses on mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments, international joint ventures and financing. Last year, he represented Hong Kong-based private equity firm Baring Private Equity Asia Ltd on a $723 million sale of Korean cement producer Halla Cement Corp to local rival Asia Cement Co Ltd.
Kyungseok KimKim joined White & Case in 2015 as a partner from Linklaters, where he was counsel based in Hong Kong. He first joined the New York-based firm in Hong Kong and soon moved to its then newly opened Seoul office. In 2013, Kim also spent time in Linklaters' Seoul office when the Magic Circle firm first opened in Korea. Before joining Linklaters in 2007, he practised at Baker McKenzie and DLA Piper.
Arnold & Porter received approval for its Seoul office in February. The office, led by litigation partner Lee, will have four other lawyers. Before joining the Washington, D.C.-based firm in December, Lee ran White & Case's Seoul office and the firm's global Korea practice.
Kim's departure leaves White & Case with two partners in its Seoul office: international arbitration lawyer Jun Hee Kim, who took over from Lee as Seoul office executive partner, and asset finance specialist Ji Hoon Hong. Last week, White & Case recruited project finance counsel Sarah Park for its Seoul office from Shearman & Sterling in Singapore.

J. Brugh Lower of Gibbons has entered an appearance for industrial equipment supplier Devco Corporation in a pending trademark infringement lawsuit. The suit, accusing the defendant of selling knock-off Graco products, was filed Dec. 18 in New Jersey District Court by Rivkin Radler on behalf of Graco Inc. and Graco Minnesota. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Zahid N. Quraishi, is 3:24-cv-11294, Graco Inc. et al v. Devco Corporation.

Rebecca Maller-Stein and Kent A. Yalowitz of Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer have entered their appearances for Hanaco Venture Capital and its executives, Lior Prosor and David Frankel, in a pending securities lawsuit. The action, filed on Dec. 24 in New York Southern District Court by Zell, Aron & Co. on behalf of Goldeneye Advisors, accuses the defendants of negligently and fraudulently managing the plaintiff's $1 million investment. The suit, filed Dec. 11 in New York Southern District Court by Bleichmar Fonti & Auld, accuses the defendants of concealing the bank's 'pervasive' deficiencies in regards to its compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and the quality of its anti-money laundering controls. Wolf of Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani to fend off a pending breach-of-contract lawsuit. The court action, filed Nov. 25 in Michigan Eastern District Court by Hooper Hathaway PC on behalf of The Town Residences LLC, accuses Crown Castle of failing to transfer approximately $30,000 in utility payments from T-Mobile in breach of a roof-top lease and assignment agreement.
