DLA Piper's global restructuring co-chair Michael Fiddy and U.K. restructuring head Amy Jacks have quit the firm to join Mayer Brown.

Fiddy, who joined DLA Piper in 1995, will join Mayer Brown as one of three global restructuring co-heads, alongside Hong Kong-based partner John Marsden and New York-based Brian Trust.

Jacks, meanwhile, joined DLA Piper in 2000 and made partner in 2011. She will co-head the firm's U.K. restructuring practice alongside Devi Shah.

Mayer Brown London senior partner Sally Davies said in a statement: "The expansion of our restructuring capabilities in London is a strategic area of focus for us.

"We want to grow our ability to provide a distinctive and commercial full-service offering to debtors, funds and other financial institutions operating in not only the local market but globally, and the arrival of Michael and Amy is a significant step in that direction."

Fiddy and Jacks have not yet left the firm, with their arrival date at Mayer Brown yet to be decided.

Other hires for Mayer Brown in the City include Norton Rose Fulbright's litigation duo Sam Eastwood and Jason Hungerford in July, a month after Fried Frank London finance head Stuart Brinkworth left to join Mayer Brown.

DLA Piper U.K. managing partner Liam Cowell said: "Both Michael and Amy have made a significant contribution to our team over the years, and we wish them well for the future. We continue to have a very strong restructuring practice and are regularly involved in some of the U.K.'s most high-profile and complex restructuring matters, reflecting the breadth and quality of our practice."

Mayer Brown also raided DLA Piper in the U.S. earlier today for California-based insurance partner Paul Chen as well as three Dentons partners in San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York.
