DWF has made the first move in its promised post-IPO hiring spree, with the recruitment of Dentons real estate finance partner Brendan Slack.

Slack will lead the firm's London real estate finance team and will be a member of the energy and infrastructure sector group.

Slack's practice covers local, UK and international real estate finance as well as asset-backed and energy and infrastructure transactions.

Before joining Dentons in 2015, he had been a partner at legacy Speechly Bircham.

His hire is the first for DWF since it floated on the main market last week at a valuation of £366 million. In the firm's prospectus document, the firm said it "estimates it will have 15 to 25 net partner joiners per year in the medium term".

DWF said the new hires will help the firm hit a target of growing net revenue per partner to approximately £1 million in the same period.

DWF enjoyed a "satisfactory" main market debut last week. Shares officially listed on the main market on Monday at 122p and began trading on the following Friday at 127p, closing at 125p.

The firm's share price fell in the last week, hitting a low of 118p on March 20.
