Mayer Brown Nabs DLA Piper Corporate Partner in Hong Kong
Mergers and acquisitions specialist Sheng Wu joins Mayer Brown after seven years at DLA Piper.

Mayer Brown has hired corporate partner Sheng Wu in Hong Kong from DLA Piper.
Wu focuses on mergers and acquisitions in China, particularly in the insurance, financial services and healthcare sectors. In 2018, he advised Chinese dairy product producer Beijing Sanyuan Foods Co. Ltd. and Chinese conglomerate Fosun International Ltd. on a $733 million acquisition of French margarine maker St Hubert SAS.
Wu joined DLA Piper in 2012 from legacy Dewey & LeBoeuf. He made partner at DLA Piper in 2016.
Earlier this month, Mayer Brown recruited corporate partner Steven Tran from Hogan Lovells. Corporate and securities partner Brian McKenna joined in January 2018 from Debevoise & Plimpton.
Mayer Brown has also lost several corporate and securities partners in Hong Kong since last year, including former senior partner Elaine Lo and securities partner Nicholas Chan, to Chinese firm Jingtian & Gongcheng; and longtime partner and former corporate practice leader Martin Robertson to Big Four accounting firm PwC's affiliate law firm.
The Chicago-based firm now has 22 partners in its corporate and securities practice in Hong Kong, according to its website.
