Six firms have won places on the Post Office's legal panel following a review, with Linklaters and Pinsent Masons among the line-up.

The successful firms have been split into two lots worth a combined £39 million, with the panel set to run for an initial four-year term with the potential for a two-year extension.

Pinsents, Linklaters and Norton Rose Fulbright have been appointed to lot one, which is worth £24 million and covers highly complex and high-value strategic work across all Post Office practice areas and all UK jurisdictions.

Pinsents also features on the second lot of the roster, which is worth £15 million and covers general legal work for the company. Womble Bond Dickinson, DAC Beachcroft and Ashfords also sit on that lot.

Pinsents TMT head Simon Colvin was the lead partner involved in the firm's pitch process, while Womble Bond Dickinson partners Rachel Scott and Andrew Harding led for the firm.

DAC Beachcroft client relationship partner Alistair Robertson led its bid alongside regulatory partner Mathew Rutter.

Tenders for the work were sent out at the end of 2018, with the company expecting to appoint about seven legal advisers to the panel. Group legal director Ben Foat led the process.

Post Office split from Royal Mail in 2012, which recently extended its own 13-strong legal panel for another year.
