Pinsent Masons has relocated its Singapore lawyers to larger premises as the firm looks to strengthen its presence in the region.

The firm – known in the country as Pinsent Masons MPillay – has taken up residence at the 38-storey Frasers Tower in the centre of Singapore's business district, which adds an extra 6,899 square foot to its presence in the region.

The 16,124 sq ft open-plan office features collaboration and breakout spaces, seminar space for more than 100 people, sit/stand desks, contemplation and wellness rooms, and enhanced technology and videoconferencing facilities.

Pinsent Masons MPillay has more than 40 lawyers in Singapore specialising in the infrastructure, energy, technology and financial services sectors, servicing clients in the nation-state as well as across Asia.

Pinsents has enjoyed a 12-year alliance with MPillay, having secured a joint venture with the local firm in 2007.

In April, the firm started reducing its office space in the U.K., significantly cutting floorspace in Glasgow and Leeds as it targeted a nationwide rollout of agile working.

"Pinsent Masons MPillay is a key hub for the firm's Asia-Pacific network," said Pinsents Singapore partner Chen Han Toh.

He described Frasers Tower as "a fantastic location" and said the premises would "enhance our ability to stay connected and work collaboratively with our clients and international colleagues".
