Deloitte's Hong Kong Law Firm Hires Another Partner From China's Zhong Lun
Alternative dispute resolution partner Norris Yang is the fifth senior lawyer from the Chinese firm to join J. E. Jamison & Co. since its launch in January.

Big Four accounting firm Deloitte's affiliated law firm in Hong Kong has hired another attorney from Zhong Lun Law Firm – its fifth partner hire from the Chinese firm.
Norris Yang joins J. E. Jamison & Co. as a partner. Yang specialises in alternative dispute resolution, as well as corporate and commercial law, international investments, mergers and acquisitions, and trusts.
Yang leaves Zhong Lun after 24 years with the firm and its predecessor firms in Hong Kong. In 1995, he founded Yang & Co., which formed an association with Vancouver-based Boughton Peterson Yang Anderson; the following year, Boughton Peterson became a Hong Kong local firm and merged with Yang & Co. In 2011, Boughton Peterson merged with Zhong Lun's Hong Kong affiliate firm and formally combined to become the Chinese firm's Hong Kong office in 2015.
Previously, Yang was a name partner at Alan Lam and Norris Yang for 11 years and an associate for two years at Baker McKenzie. Before practising law, he was a computer systems analyst at Canadian insurer Manulife in Toronto.
Yang reunites with former Zhong Lun partners Peter Chen and Danny Lau, who joined J. E. Jamison & Co. in April. As Law.com previously reported, current Zhong Lun partner Victor Yang and former senior consultant Eliza Chan will also join J. E. Jamison & Co.; Victor Yang served as Hong Kong office managing partner of Zhong Lun until 2017 and was the founding partner of BPYA's Hong Kong office in 1989.
The other lawyer at J. E. Jamison & Co. is name partner and Deloitte China general counsel James Jamison, who launched the firm in January. Jamison is also an alternative dispute resolution specialist and was Asia-Pacific arbitration head for Clifford Chance before joining Deloitte in 2011.
J. E. Jamison & Co. is currently recruiting attorneys who specialise in corporate and commercial law, as well as private wealth and trust. In late November, Deloitte China's Hong Kong-based vice-chair, Patrick Yip, told Law.com affiliate The Asian Lawyer that the auditor's Hong Kong law firm will have 25 lawyers, including six partners.

J. Brugh Lower of Gibbons has entered an appearance for industrial equipment supplier Devco Corporation in a pending trademark infringement lawsuit. The suit, accusing the defendant of selling knock-off Graco products, was filed Dec. 18 in New Jersey District Court by Rivkin Radler on behalf of Graco Inc. and Graco Minnesota. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Zahid N. Quraishi, is 3:24-cv-11294, Graco Inc. et al v. Devco Corporation.
