Irwin Mitchell has opened an office in Reading as the firm expands its regional footprint.

The firm has relocated three lawyers to Reading for the launch, including partner Sarah Phillips who will lead the new office. She will continue to lead the firm's Newbury office, and is joined in the relocation by partner Andrew Parry and lawyer Sarah Paton.

The firm has also hired Blake Morgan lawyer Robert Mulvany to join the Reading office.

The Newbury office will be home to 14 lawyers, though lawyers will move between offices depending on need, a firm spokesperson said.

Sarah Phillips said in a statement: "Opening our reach out to Reading – which already has a strong legal market – gives us the opportunity to provide not just private-client expertise but also to support businesses as well, so we can give our clients the full service we have in our other major offices."

The office is the firm's 15th and comes on the back of an office move for the firm in Manchester and a planned move in Birmingham.

The firm's other Thames Valley outpost in Newbury will also move to new premises in September.

In May, Irwin Mitchell cut about 10 staff from across the firm, following a review of its business.
