Kutxabank, a financial institution based in the Basque autonomous region of Spain, has hired Baker McKenzie partner Ana García Rodríguez as general counsel and global corporate secretary.
García Rodríguez joins from the Madrid office of Baker McKenzie, where she was a partner and head of the financial services and regulatory and insurance department for four years.

"I have spent all my career in the banking and financial services industry. Being the general counsel of a bank was a logical and challenging change," García Rodríguez told Law.com – International. "I am really happy with this move and grateful for the confidence in me."
Before Baker McKenzie, García Rodríguez worked at Madrid-based law firm Uría Menéndez for 11 years, specialising in corporate and commercial law, banking and finance, securities market law and M&A.
