Allen & Overy's head of fraud is leaving the firm to join U.S. rival Milbank in London.

A&O partner Mona Vaswani is leaving the Magic Circle firm after 28 years. She first joined as a trainee in 1991 and made partner a decade later.

As part of her practice, she advises banks and trustees on cross-border disputes, fraud and asset-tracing claims.

An A&O spokesperson said in a statement: "Mona Vaswani has decided to leave Allen & Overy, although no leaving date is yet agreed.  We would like to thank her for the contribution she has made during her time at Allen & Overy and wish her all the best for the future after she leaves us."

Her hire is the latest for Milbank, which has expanded its London office in recent years with several high-profile additions.

Last year, it hired a four-partner Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft London team led by restructuring star Yushan Ng, swiftly followed by highly rated high yield partner Apostolos Gkoutzinis from U.S. rival Shearman & Sterling.

Milbank declined to comment.
