A Norton Rose Fulbright lawyer has joined a London boutique private equity real estate firm as its new general counsel.

Norton Rose corporate senior associate Keith Law is set to join Deutsche Finance International (DFI), which invests in European real estate and real estate-anchored businesses.

Having joined Norton Rose in 2007, he has worked on deals with a total value of more than £25 billion. He has worked closely with DFI since 2016.

He advised DFI on the acquisition of the Olympia London Exhibition Centre earlier this year, as well as the establishment of DFI's Danish Student Accommodation Platform.

Alongside Law's hire, DFI has brought in a new fund controller, Sally Taylorson-Lavers, from M&G Real Estate.

DFI's co-founder and co-managing partner Gavin Neilan said in a statement: "These two new senior hires are important next steps in implementing DFI's ambitious growth plans, as we continue to expand our team to support our pan-European investment activities."

The hires follow the closing of DFI's inaugural fund, DFI European Value-Add Fund, which raised €436 million of equity. The firm also has €1.6 billion of assets under management under management.

Other recent private practice to in-house moves include two Kirkland partners, who joined alternative asset manager ICG Capital and investment firm Triton Partners.
