Bird & Bird Rebuilds Hong Kong Disputes Practice With Norton Rose Fulbright Hire
Former Norton Rose Fulbright counsel Michael Chik joins as a partner, helping cover the loss of a six-lawyer disputes team departure to Dentons late last year.

Bird & Bird has hired Michael Chik as a disputes partner in Hong Kong from Norton Rose Fulbright, where he was counsel.
Chik specialises in contentious trust litigation, financial disputes and estate and probate disputes. He also advises on international arbitration and compliance matters related to the Hong Kong stock exchange.
Bird & Bird said in a statement that Chik will be a part of a multifaceted offering in China, Singapore and Australia, working with the firm's intellectual property and employment litigators in the Asia-Pacific region.
The appointment of Chik helps cover the loss of a six-lawyer disputes team departure, led by partners Richard Keady and Robert Rhoda, to Dentons in December of last year. Bird & Bird has two other disputes partners in Hong Kong, Matthew Laight and Ted Chwu, who both focus on intellectual property.
