Gibson Dunn & Crutcher has expanded its London and Paris offices with several lawyers from rival firms.

Mayer Brown tax partner Ben Fryer has joined rival Gibson Dunn in London, while an employment trio including one partner is set to join from Ashurst's Paris base.

The Ashurst team is led by employment partner Nataline Fleury, who will join Gibson Dunn's Paris office alongside two associates next month.

Fleury has spent more than 11 years at Ashurst as a partner, having joined from Jones Day where she was an associate.

She has particular expertise in employment work within M&A deals. She also advises on employment law issues relating to restructurings transactions, employment audits, employment contracts and executive earnings programmes.

The flurry of hires are the latest across Europe for Gibson Dunn.

Last week, it bolstered its London base with Macfarlanes financial regulation partner Michelle Kirschner, while last month it expanded its Brussels office with the hire of U.S. rival O'Melveny & Myers' Brussels managing partner.

Gibson Dunn also strengthened its New York office with heavyweight hires from Jones Day's highly regarded bankruptcy and restructuring practice.

Gibson Dunn took four partners from Jones Day, including the co-chair of the group's New York restructuring practice, last week.

A Mayer Brown spokesperson said in a statement: "We can confirm that Ben Fryer will be leaving the firm. We wish him well in his new role."
