DWF has become the latest firm to expand its product offering, setting up a regulatory consulting offering with two accountancy hires.

The listed firm has hired BDO partner Andrew Jacobs to lead the new business, DWF Regulatory Consulting.

Jacobs had previously been a senior consultant at PwC. Prior to joining BDO last year, he was a partner at Moore Stephens.

DWF has also hired Grant Thornton associate director Darren Fisher as a lead director in the new venture.

According to a statement by DWF, the new business is aimed at "helping improve the resilience of businesses in an increasingly challenging and evolving regulatory climate".

Current DWF regulatory lawyers Robbie Constance and Richard Burger, who joined the firm last year, will provide legal advice as part of the consulting arm, according to the firm.

DWF joins a variety of other firms expanding their offerings recently.

Earlier this month, Pinsent Masons launched a global project management division aimed at helping support delivery of matters on time and on budget.

Meanwhile, in July, BLM launched a business consultancy division to tackle "operational inefficiencies", while in October last year, HFW launched its own consulting venture.
