Alternative legal provider Elevate has appointed the former president of the Law Society of England and Wales, Christina Blacklaws, to its advisory board.
According to a statement by the firm, Blacklaws will work with Elevate to advise legal organisations on how to adapt to trends in the industry.
The announcement follows news last week that Blacklaws had joined Big Four accountant KPMG as a legal services ambassador.
This role will see her support KPMG in developing legal services across legal innovation strategy and client services, among others.
Blacklaws previously served as Law Society president between 2018 and 2019. She has a background in business development across various legal sectors and also runs a consulting business.
Earlier this year, Elevate secured $25 million in funding from Los Angeles-based private equity fund Kayne Partner, with the firm stating it aimed to use this funding to scale operations to meet increasing customer demand and enhance its Cael enterprise legal management software.
This month, Elevate also partnered with Ashurst to launch a new flexible resourcing platform, which will allow Ashurst to source contract lawyers and allow its clients to access technical expertise for secondments.
