The Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal has adjourned the case against Gary Senior and others until April 27, 2020.

The decision, which was made following the cross examination of Baker McKenzie consultant Peter Strivens on Thursday (December 19), relates to the last respondent, Martin Blackburn, being unable to attend.

The counsel for each party expressed worry over the tribunal panel forgetting the arguments put forward, but the panel said they would study the transcripts of the hearings and the evidence available prior to the next hearing to remind themselves of each party's position.

Strivens' cross-examination ended today with him being questioned about why other partners involved in the decision-making regarding Person A and Gary Senior in 2012, such as Sarah Gregory and Partner T, had not been called in to give evidence. Strivens said he did not know.

He also said he had not seen a "bundle of documents", including meeting notes and emails between the respondents, prior to an interview to prepare his witness statement earlier this year.

The hearings will resume in April with the cross-examination of Martin Blackburn, Baker McKenzie's former HR director, before the panel can decide the outcome of the case.
