Legal Week Intelligence, the research arm of Legal Week, ran its first survey of law students last year, questioning more than 2,000 undergraduate law students about their choice of career, law firm, career ambitions and what influencing factors lie behind their decisions.
The research was carried out for the benefit of law firms, for which getting the brightest students is a critical business issue. Firms spend a lot of time and money trying to work out what makes students tick. But the survey also threw up some issues that may affect a student's choice of law firm and, in time, change the way law firms recruit graduates. Here, Legal Week Student presents the survey's main findings and looks at how they may affect your search for a training contract.
