Addleshaw Goddard head of civil fraud Mark Hastings has resigned to join Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan in London.

Hastings, who is head of Addleshaws' civil fraud group, will be Quinn's sixth lateral hire in London this year.

He is best known for his work acting for oligarch Boris Berezovsky on a series of cases, including a dispute with Chelsea Football Club owner Roman Abramovich, and an action against Russian metal magnate Vasily Anisimov and investment company Salford Capital Partners.

The firm's managing partner, John Quinn, said: "Mark's civil fraud and commercial litigation practice brings another new dimension to our practice in London. His drive, enthusiasm and entrepreneurial flair will be a big asset for our entire London practice."

Richard East, Quinn's London co-managing partner, said: "Mark is exactly the sort of young and hungry litigator we need to help us take this practice in London to the next level."

In September, Quinn hired Macfarlanes financial services head David Berman. His hire came after the litigation leader hired Covington & Burling partner and former Serious Fraud Office prosecutor Robert Amaee in August, to launch a new London white-collar and corporate investigations practice.

Other recruits include Herbert Smith Freehills construction partner James Bremen in June; Clyde & Co litigation partner Paul Friedman in February; and DLA Piper's UK competition head Kate Vernon in March.

Yesterday, it emerged that Addleshaws had hired former King & Wood Mallesons managing partner William Boss alongside two other real estate partners in London.
