Hogan Lovells has made up five London lawyers in this year's partnership promotions round, the firm's largest global round since 2012.
Litigators Matthew Felwick and Valerie Kenyon (pictured), energy lawyer Alex Harrison, restructuring lawyer Alex Kay and funds lawyer Jeremy Pickles have all been promoted to partner in the City.
Last year, the firm promoted three London partners out of a global total of 29.
In total, 31 lawyers have joined the firm's partnership around the world this year, representing the largest partner promotions round since the firm made up 35 lawyers in 2012.
The majority of this year's new partners are in the US, with 12 made up across Denver, Miami, New York, Northern Virginia, Philadelphia and Washington DC, while 11 have been promoted across the firm's continental European offices in Germany, the Netherlands and Spain.
One lawyer has been made up in Mexico City, alongside one in each of the firm's Shanghai, Beijing and Tokyo bases.
Thirty-five percent of the new partners are women. Last year, the firm narrowly missed its target of achieving a 25% female partnership by 2017, and is now targeting a 30% female partnership by 2020.
The firm has also promoted 38 lawyers to counsel. All of the promotions took effect on 1 January.
Hogan Lovells CEO Steve Immelt said: "We are seeing real momentum with these promotions – in terms of diversity of our practices, our offices, by gender, and by ethnicity. They represent the globally diverse nature of our business. With that in mind, I am particularly pleased that more than a third of our new partners and new counsel are women. I congratulate all those who were promoted and wish them every success as they continue their career with us."
Other recent partnership promotion rounds include US outfit King & Spalding, which made up one lawyer in its City base in a 17-strong global round. Corporate lawyer Marcus Young is the fourth London lawyer at the firm to be promoted in as many years.
Elsewhere, fellow US firm Akin Gump has also promoted one lawyer in its London office, with finance specialist Sam Brodie making the grade in a round of 15.
