Compliance should always be top-of-mind for businesses, particularly as compliance regulations tighten in the U.S. But certain businesses are looking at how to simplify data requests using new technologies that can ease e-discovery and streamline the work of IT departments when data requests come in. In that vein, Iron Mountain Inc.—a provider of storage and information management services—announced the company is working with Trusted Data Solutions to create Iron Mountain's Restoration Assurance Program. Trusted Data Solutions is a provider of backup tape restoration and data conversion services.

The two companies worked together on the program, which is designed to make it easier for organizations to retrieve information from data backup systems and tape formats, easing some of the burden of the IT team.

The program guarantees restoration capability of information from all types of tape formats and systems. IT workers will have access to all that data that resides on tape, and will generally allow for companies to respond to e-discovery need and support compliance substantiation more quickly, according to Eileen Sweeney, senior vice president and general manager of data management for Iron Mountain.
