AOL Inc– which is poised to be taken over by Verizon in a major deal – has announced that it will expand its use of e-discovery solution provider Exterro Inc's offerings.
The deal will bring more e-discovery process, capability and technology to the company's in-house legal department. With the move the company hopes to lower external spending, as well as improve efficiency and management.
“They can do a lot of work without … the need to outsource it,” Bill Piwonka, chief marketing officer at Exterro, told Legaltech News about the benefits of the offerings. “Costs are substantial if you're outsourcing everything,” he added. “A fair amount of work can be done in-house.”
