The ESI Roundtable (ESIRT), which has performed continuing legal education on electronically stored information (ESI) in the Southeast, is expanding its program from coast to coast. ESIRT, which was founded in Birmingham, Alabama, reached a licensing agreement in May with ESIRT New York and California to offer a series of CLE programs in New York City, Los Angeles and San Francisco. Margaret Morton, national director of ESIRT, will coordinate the programs in those cities, according to the public announcement.

Melissa Rogozinski, president of ESIRT, developed the methodology, process and curriculum for the roundtables. Rogozinski's mission is to ensure that program attendees take away best practices in federal and state courts and the latest information on ESI from in-depth discussions, i.e., roundtables. Programs are designed for lawyers beginning their investigation of ESI to those with intermediate knowledge.

Past programs from ESIRT include moderated panels by judges and practitioners focused on topics such as e-discovery cooperation, clawback agreements, discovery orders, e-discovery case management, sources of ESI, vendor selection, legal holds and privacy. Federal and state e-discovery information is provided. Following panel discussions, programs move to breakout sessions with group leaders focused on particular litigation roles, such as plaintiffs and defendants, and practice areas, such as employment law, family law and criminal/Qui Tam litigation.
