E-Discovery software provider kCura Corp. has announced that through the terms of its global licensing deal with KPMG, the accounting and advisory firm will incorporate Relativity, an e-discovery and review platform, into its Brazilian operations. The deal is designed to further bolster the KPMG's e-discovery and forensic investigation capabilities for its global network of affiliate firms.

Relativity, which was recently named a leader in Gartner's 2015 E-Discovery Software Magic Quadrant, has been used by KPMG in many of its global deployments. In Brazil, where an evolving roster of anti-corruption and anti-bribery regulations hold organizations to higher standards than ever before, KPMG will use the e-discovery platform to aid organizations in their compliance efforts.

Perhaps most notable of these new laws is Brazil's Clean Companies Act, which launched in January of 2014, and has been compared to the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA). Under the FCPA, companies need to comply with strict rules surrounding their involvement with foreign national parties and face penalties for compliance failures. Better forensic tools to satisfy compliance requirements are a must for organizations operating in Brazil and Latin America. KPMG Brazil's advisory services, with Relativity, are an option to address compliance requirements.
