The arrival of Big Data has changed the way almost every department in the modern enterprise, and businesses are looking for tools to help them navigate the evolving landscape of technological innovation.
HP has announced the release of software solutions this week that are designed to help businesses with their backup and storage processes, in addition to managing Big Data, cloud operations, and challenges with governance. The evolution of Big Data analytics and its integration with the enterprise have been driving forces behind HP's new products which the company has dubbed HP ControlPoint and HP Storage Optimizer.
The software solutions target the needs of businesses grappling with managing big data and migrating towards the cloud. When reached for comment, Joe Garber, Vice President of Information Governance for HP said that they aim “to deliver significant cost savings, minimize risk, and deliver added value to the organization”. With the HP Storage Optimizer, businesses can improve operational infrastructure management, to ultimately lower IT expenditures. The HP ControlPoint solution allows users to “take a more informed step toward the cloud and a hybrid infrastructure to achieve short-term cost savings – and ultimately lower risk of storing the wrong data in the wrong place and increase their ability to tap into the better-quality data for strategic insight, compliance and productivity,” Garber said.
