As with all industries and verticals, technology catches up with traditional business models, and changes the way both consumers and companies work. Much is the same with the legal world; a startup in Silicon Valley has developed software that makes legal disputes possible to solve online, without ever needing to hire an attorney.

Modria is a company that creates policy-based automated resolutions. Larry Friedberg, chief marketing officer at Modria, told Legaltech News that there is a gaping need for software the digitizes solving legal disputes: The courts are jammed with caseloads which will only increase over time.

“Meanwhile, courts are having their budgets cut. There is no discernible way for the courts to handle caseloads without employing scalable technology,” he said.
