In an “assets-only” deal, legal research company Fastcase has acquired its competitor Loislaw, which is set to close its doors on Nov. 30.
The acquisition will primarily benefit Loislaw subscribers, Fastcase CEO Ed Walters told Legaltech News in an interview.

“I think the primary benefit is to Loislaw subscribers—they will combine the power of Fastcase's innovative legal research tools (think data visualization, citation analytics, mobile apps), with the comprehensive Loislaw treatise libraries,” Walters explained.
