The baseline for understanding complex topics often comes by way of an agreed upon vocabulary; zoological taxonomies, for example, have allowed biologists a framework for categorizing and drawing connections between earth’s innumerous species.
For electronic production, which demands a vocabulary marred by both highly technical verbiage and invented marketing jargon, lack of a common vernacular can hinder understanding for those unfamiliar with the idiosyncrasies of the process. The Legal Technology Professionals Institute (LTPI) hopes to change that with the release of a new glossary designed to demystify and universalize the terms associated with electronic discovery and production. The glossary will be released on Oct. 13.
