Positioning itself to gain ground in what was recently identified as an expanding marketplace for e-discovery tools and software, legal services provider Consilio has announced its acquisition of UK-based Proven Legal Technologies.

Through the acquisition, Consilio will add Proven Legal Technologies' experience providing clients with e-discovery and forensic investigation services in the UK. The move not only multiplies the number of staff members Consilio has on hand to address international e-discovery and document review needs, but it will also allow the company to offer Relativity hosting services to a larger number of geographic locations and potential customers.

The acquisition is advantageous in light of recent data transfer and privacy rulings across the Atlantic. As the EU continues to alter the mechanisms by which information can be legally transferred in and out of its member nations, the collection of information required by e-discovery and investigation processes are invariably impacted as well. With experience handling cases brought by the UK's Financial Conduct Authority and Serious Fraud Office, as well as the European Commission, Proven Legal Technologies' experience dealing with evolving data management obligations will aid Consilio's clients that conduct business with and within EU member nations.
