In today's murky cybersecurity climate, there are no easy solutions for corporate counsel. But that does not mean that lawyers and the in-house departments they work with can throw up their hands and ignore data security issues. Especially in the wake of massive breaches like that at Yahoo, more and more C-suites are asking their legal departments if they're safe.

Wolters Kluwer, which provides information, software, and services to legal professionals, is now focusing on helping corporate attorneys fill the cybersecurity knowledge gap. On Cheetah, the company's legal research platform, Wolters Kluwer has added a new feature, the Cybersecurity & Privacy Law Suite, aimed at providing an easy way to look up cybersecurity and privacy statutes by jurisdiction (both state and international), as well as curated news and commentary in the space.

The reasoning behind the separate suite for cybersecurity and privacy-centric news is a streamlined information source, said Steven Santel, senior product manager of corporate and securities at Wolters Kluwer Legal & Regulatory U.S. Counsel are looking to minimize the time they take to find cybersecurity answers, and especially in an arena where quick reactions are necessary, actionable insights are crucial.
