The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority Inc. launched an initiative last week aiming to allow the financial technology industry more access to the Wall Street regulator.

FINRA launched a new fintech webpage, announced a blockchain symposium to take place in New York in July and created a cross-departmental team to work “closely with industry participants to gain real-time intelligence on fintech issues.”

Some lawyers are commending the organization for joining other regulators like the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission and the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency in engaging fintech companies for feedback on regulatory oversight.
