Over the past couple of weeks, you may have noticed a few new names pop up frequently on Legaltech News bylines. That's because, as of the beginning of October, we've had a few new reporters enter the LTN fold!
Our Legaltech News staff had the same composition for roughly two years, but over the summer, there was a bit of change. Reporter Gabrielle Orum Hernández headed back to school in mid-July after two years with LTN, and we continue to wish her the best of luck. Meanwhile, you'll still see editor Ian Lopez's bio around as he is still with ALM, but he's moved over to the company's Litigation Desk—he'll be reporting frequently for The American Lawyer and The Recorder, among other magazines, alongside powering the What's Next newsletter briefing around tech litigation.
With Ian's move, Rhys Dipshan has taken the role of ALM's Technology Desk editor, working with LTN and other ALM magazines on all things technology and law. Many of our readers know Rhys at this point—he's been with LTN since early 2016 reporting on subjects ranging from cybersecurity to cryptocurrencies to all things corporate law. Rhys will still be doing some reporting for LTN, but in addition, he will be working with me on story selection, editing, and other day-to-day duties for the magazine.
Rhys will also be working with two new reporters, who we couldn't be more excited to have on board. They've answered a few questions below so readers can get to know them better. Of course, go ahead and reach out their way at any time if you want to know more!

What made you interested in the legal and/or tech worlds? Technology is constantly changing, which means that the law is often racing to keep up. We're living at a transformative moment in time. Put another way: I don't think legislators broke a sweat when color TV came out.
What type of subjects are you looking to cover at LTN? I've been really enjoying learning more about privacy and cybersecurity.
How would you describe yourself to somebody you're meeting or speaking with for the first time? I would open by saying that I'm a friendly person who enjoys learning about new things. That or I saw “The Dark Knight” six times in theaters.
