Twitter Inc. has added a pair of prominent players from the in-house world to its legal team.

The San Francisco-based tech company's general counsel, Sean Edgett, announced Wednesday that Twitter had hired Tod Cohen, the former chief lawyer for online ticket exchange StubHub, and Stephanie King, who was leading the legal department at AdRoll Inc., an online advertising tech company.

King will serve as Twitter's vice president and deputy GC of product and privacy, while Cohen was appointed as a vice president and deputy GC of litigation, regulatory and human rights.

Cohen has the reins of Twitter's litigation, regulatory, law enforcement and safety, legal policy and employment law teams. He said in a written statement that he was “looking forward to assisting our community through the law, policy and human rights to fulfill this mission.”

Cohen had been general counsel of StubHub since 2015, according to his LinkedIn profile. He also spent more than 15 years in-house at eBay Inc., where he moved up from associate GC to deputy GC.

He began his career in 1992 as an associate at Covington & Burling and went on to serve as vice president of the Motion Picture Association of America. He is a graduate of The George Washington University Law School.

King had served as AdRoll's senior vice president, GC and corporate secretary since 2014, according to her LinkedIn profile. After graduating from the Columbia University School of Law, she entered the legal world in 2004 as an associate for Latham & Watkins and went on to serve as senior manager of legal for Gilead Sciences Inc. and associate GC at Zynga Inc., a social game developer in San Francisco.

At Twitter, she'll lead the company's product counsel and privacy teams.

“As today's global privacy and product legal landscapes rapidly evolve in a way that fundamentally impact both the business and individuals, I am honored to support Twitter in navigating these spaces,” she said in a written statement.
