We're almost to the holidays, which should be a time of rest, relaxation and fun with family. Or, if you're like me, running around like a chicken with my head cut off and being thankful for Amazon Prime two-day shipping because—holy cow, where did the time go?! But as much as anything else, it's a time to reflect on the 12 months past and take stock as we move into the year 2020. In legal technology, it's been an extraordinarily interesting time. New technologies like the internet of things and artificial intelligence have threatened to disrupt the status quo, e-discovery has been in the news (both political and celebrity) more than ever before, big personnel and M&A changes have occurred at the largest legal tech companies, and ransomware has been a looming spectre over law firms and governments alike.
