For the legal industry, adapting to the fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic might best be described as a "work in progress." After all, the challenges the virus has posed to traditional working arrangements, business revenue and even the types of services that clients are seeking are so far-reaching and complex that the real impact may not yet be evident. However law firms, legal tech companies and alternative legal service providers alike have already started taking steps—some more extreme than others—to ensure that business operations can continue with a reasonable amount of stability and security. While some of those measures are as simple as issuing some basic cybersecurity reminders, others may find legal industry employees seeking out new employment.
