COVID-19 showed law firms they can quickly transform into a remote workforce and embrace technology. Now, firms need to avoid slipping back into their old ways, said law firm tech leaders on the "Leading Transformational Change—Women's Perspectives" panel during the ILTA>ON's conference.

While the sudden need to support an entirely remote law firm wasn't previously planned, Kelley Drye & Warren chief information officer Judith Flournoy noted the pandemic spurred usage of firms' previously purchased software.

"A lot of [the technology] we're dealing with now, the changes were already in play. But what happened with COVID is it was a tipping point that moved things faster than we could have anticipated," Flournoy said.
