Utah's Supreme Court unanimously approved Rocket Lawyers application to join the state's pilot program, which allows nonlawyers to provide certain traditional legal services and authorizes new legal business models.

Less than a month after Utah approved a regulatory sandbox, online legal service provider Rocket Lawyer has announced it has been accepted to participate in the pilot program. The state's regulatory sandbox allows nonlawyers to provide certain traditional legal services and authorizes new legal business models and service delivery approaches for a two-year period, after which the state's Supreme Court will decide on the program's future.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays.
