High-Level In-House Roles Are Being Filled, But Legal Ops May Take a Back Seat
Going into the fall, in-house legal may continue to see a large number of applicants vying for a limited number of jobs. However, alternative legal service providers may begin to woo a significant portion of that talent pool away.

Heading into the fall, corporate legal departments may still find themselves more reliant upon contract workers than full-time hires as they continue adjusting to the economic fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic. But when departments are ready to start recruiting more staff positions around fields like privacy, they could find a different legal talent pool than they remember.
Of course, right now that pool may be overflowing and could potentially stand to see even more job candidates vying for a role in in-house legal. Mark Yacano, managing director of the transform advisory services group at Major, Lindsey & Africa, theorized that law firms will eventually want staff to return to pre-COVID-19 efficiency levels, which could leave many attorneys looking for jobs that allow for a better work/life balance.

The suit, accusing the defendant of selling knock-off Graco products, was filed Dec. 18 in New Jersey District Court by Rivkin Radler on behalf of Graco Inc. and Graco Minnesota.
